Amaravati: The state government is planning a comprehensive survey to provide required infrastructure to industries in the state.Industries minister Mekapati Gautham Reddy said the survey will identify the shortcomings in the management of the industries and suggest the remedies. Speaking to reporters at APIIC office on Thursday, Mekapati said that Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal has promised to sanction two petro-chemical complexes to the state.
The minister said the government would ready the plans for setting up the petro-chemical complexes which are expected to attract massive investments to the state.Mekapati said that the Centre has agreed, in principle, to extend financial support to the state government’s plans to construct eight fishing harbours along the coast. He said that the government is fully geared up to kick-start the works on Bhavanapadu and Ramayapatnam ports by December.
“The construction of new ports and fishing harbours are going to be gamechangers to turn around the economy of the state,” said Mekapati. He said that fishing harbours would help prevent fishermen migrating to far off coastal states for fishing.He said that the previous government had neglected the development of the harbours despite repeated pleas from the fishermen.
Mekapati said the government is working to bring the world cloud centre to Visakhapatnam to make it a global destination for IT industry in the country. He said that they were also readying a project report to bag the Bulk Drug Park project from the Centre.
The minister said that the Centre has announced its plans to set up three bulk drug parks across the country. AP government is willing to provide all basic infrastructure including land, power and water to the bulk drug park, if granted, he said. Mekapati said that BHEL is most likely to grant two solar power panel manufacturing parks to the state.
